Patties are a great way to serve raw with convenience and portion control. Instinct Chicken Raw Frozen Diets are formulated like the ancestral diet with 95% poultry, organs, and raw ground bone, and with wholesome fruits and vegetables. Dogs and cats are meat eaters by nature. A diet consisting primarily of raw meat, organ meats, bone, and fat reflects what your pet would eat in its natural habitat. Since dogs and cats are carnivores by nature, they thrive on a food rich in nutritious meat.

Why a RAW Ferret Diet?
Ferrets are obligate carnivores en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnivore#Obligate_carnivores.

This means that they need meat and just meat for them to be healthful. It is what their bodies were created to digest and should you examine the ingredients for most kibbles, a sizable percentage of the ingredients are foods they cannot digest or digest quite badly (corn, wheat, peas, yams, rice, etc). Additionally, kibble fulfills the MINIMAL nutritional requirements for your pets (look into precisely what meat “meal” is en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_meal). Regrettably the reality is the fact that kibble companies are in the business of making money, not ensuring your pets well-being. The almighty dollar rules their choice of fixings. They will always select the cheapest ingredients they can find for their kibble to meet those minimal requirements (kibble companies will frequently shift their recipes that’s challenging on ferrets since they imprint on their food). A raw diet ends in better health, better dental care, more energy, better coat and helps to stave off certain common ferret illnesses (including Insulinoma). Moreover it’s what nature intended them to eat. As an added advantage, raw fed ferrets smell less (better quality oils for their coats), their poops are smaller; they poop less and their poops do not smell as strongly.

NOTE: There are a number of select kibble producers out there that are good, but they are few and and far between (and appear to inevitably bow in some way to financial pressure). They are often small companies that create a first-class and thus more expensive kibble.  Two of the finest kibbles accessible for ferrets are Wysong’s Ferret Epigen 90 www.wysong.net/products/ferret-epigen-90.php and Origen Cat & Kitten www.orijen.ca/products/cat-food/dry-cat-food/cat-kitten/ (there are others but I’m not too familiar with them).

Origen should be available there as well.

NOTICE REGARDING INSULINOMA: It cannot treat damage done although a raw diet will help prevent a ferret from developing this disorder. The better nourishment absorption and more stable blood glucose levels provided by a raw diet can help in managing this state, if your ferret has Insulinoma.
